Hokusai's Mount Fuji

Today we are painting Japan's Mt Fuji in the style of iconic artist Hokusai! You might know Hokusai from his painting "The Great Wave". This lesson is a great chance to practice gradients and landscapes 🏔️

1. Print it out

Choose a paper size that is slightly smaller than your watercolor paper.

2. Shade the back

Flip your traceable over and use a pencil to shade the back. When you hold your paper up to the light, you will be able to see the traceable on the other side.

Double check the back is fully shaded

3. Transfer to watercolor paper

Place your traceable on your watercolor paper with the scribbled side down. Firmly trace over the lines. When you remove the traceable, you will see a faint sketch has transferred over to your watercolor paper. This gives your learner a guide to draw over during class!
