Lively Lions

Today we are painting lion portraits complete with some one of a kind accessories! This is a great chance to practice painting warm colors and using scissors to cut out shapes 🦁

Traceables in 3 Easy Steps

If drawing is hard for your learner, make a quick traceable! Traceables can help younger artists build fine motor skills and confidence.

1. Print it out

Choose a paper size that is slightly smaller than your watercolor paper.

2. Shade the back

Flip your traceable over and use a pencil to shade the back. When you hold your paper up to the light, you will be able to see the traceable on the other side.

Double check the back is fully shaded

3. Transfer to watercolor paper

Place your traceable on your watercolor paper with the scribbled side down. Firmly trace over the lines. When you remove the traceable, you will see a faint sketch has transferred over to your watercolor paper. This gives your learner a guide to draw over during class!

I really liked the piano. My name is Leo. My lion's name is George. I really like your art Ms Lauren. And I can't wait to do your next artwork with you tomorrow. And I really want to do the snake. Thank you Ms Lauren! Hooray!
