Macaw Parrot

Meet one of the most colorful birds in the world: the macaw parrot! In this adventure, we'll learn about these amazing parrots and how to draw one. Then we'll practice color mixing to paint their beautiful rainbow feathers!

1. Print it out

Choose a paper size that is slightly smaller than your watercolor paper.

2. Shade the back

Flip your traceable over and use a pencil to shade the back. When you hold your paper up to the light, you will be able to see the traceable on the other side.

3. Transfer to watercolor paper

Place your traceable on your watercolor paper with the scribbled side down. Firmly trace over the lines. When you remove the traceable, you will see a faint sketch has transferred over to your watercolor paper. This gives your learner a guide to draw over during class!

Asher, age 8 wanted to challenge himself and draw this with the lesson rather than use the template. He was challenged perfectly, not too hard, not too easy. He didn’t get frustrated and gained a lot of confidence. As always Ms. Lauren tamed his busy body and mind for the duration of the lesson.
