Mushroom House

Did you know that mushrooms are more similar to animals than plants? They're called fungi and there are thousands of different types of them! In this adventure we will learn how to draw a mushroom together and it'll be up to you to transform it into a magical cozy home. This lesson is a great chance to practice the wax resist technique to create spots using crayons 🍄‍🟫 🍄

Traceables in 3 Easy Steps

If drawing is hard for your learner, make a quick traceable! Traceables can help younger artists build fine motor skills and confidence.

1. Print it out

Choose a paper size that is slightly smaller than your watercolor paper.

2. Shade the back

Flip your traceable over and use a pencil to shade the back. When you hold your paper up to the light, you will be able to see the traceable on the other side.

3. Transfer to watercolor paper

Place your traceable on your watercolor paper with the scribbled side down. Firmly trace over the lines. When you remove the traceable, you will see a faint sketch has transferred over to your watercolor paper. This gives your learner a guide to draw over during class!
